Scouts are our pre-teens and young teen, around 11-14. Scouts are expected to have more input into what they do.
They still run a weekly program, though a shift to different days to allow 'field trips' are somewhat more frequent.
Scouts advance their skill set though numerous activities. Some are sports such as archery, pelletry and rock climbing. Others are woodcarving, building projects, but also organizing their own events, or be part of organizing larger events.
Of course, we still do games, activities outside and we create opportunities to go to fun events as a group.
Scouts are expected to take part in preparing for camp, as well as at camp. To choose or setup activities, take responsibility of the campsite, maintaining a fire and arranging food.
When camps or events involve the younger sections, Scouts are encouraged to help them and 'teach' them what they've already learned themselves.
Scouts meet every Tuesday at Knottwood Community Centre from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Knottwood Community Centre - 449 Knottwood Rd W Northwest, Edmonton, AB T6K 3N1
